License and Technology Transfer Agreement with JMS Corporation

Patented IV Expres: Multimode Infusion Pump

Lausanne, Switzerland, November 28 , 2001 - Debiotech,
S.A., a privately held Swiss medical device company, reveals today
the name of its Japanese partner with whom it has entered into a
long term agreement for its IV ExpresTM infusion pump in Japan.
Under this Agreement, the leading Japanese company
JMS Corporation acquired exclusive rights to manufacture and market
an IV pump system and related disposable cassette from Debiotech,
which provide safe and cost-effective IV multi-mode therapy in both
alternate site and home care settings in Japan. The agreement is
based on upfront payment and royalties to Debiotech.
The IV ExpresTM Pump system developed by Debiotech,
together with its unique patented disposable cassette, provides
easy to use and accurate administration of intravenous fluids in
every condition of use. Its small size and light weight as well
as Telemedicine remote programming capability, with voice over data
telephone transmission, represents a significant improvement in
IV Therapy offering.
The IV ExpresTM Pump system is part of Debiotech's
advanced drug delivery systems designed to meet the growing market
need for improved administration systems, particularly in areas
such as the home care environment, alternate site, and for oncology,
patient analgesia or pediatric use.
JMS Corporation plans to market the IV ExpresTM
Pump system and its disposable cassette in Japan under its brand
name, using the already available manufacturing partners selected
by Debiotech.
