Debiotech has been receiving the 2004 Medical Design Excellence Award (MDEA) for the design of the CT Expres, advanced Contrast Media delivery system for Diagnostic Imaging. As a winner, Debiotech’s spin-off company SMC – Swiss Medical Care SA, has been attending the awards ceremony June 16, 2004 at the Medical Design & Manufacturing East 2004 Conference and Exposition at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. Medical Design Excellence Award MDEA is the premier awards program for the medical technology community. Sponsored by Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry magazine and organized by Canon Communications, it recognizes the many engineers, scientists, designers and clinicians responsible for the groundbreaking innovations changing the way healthcare is delivered. MDEA winners are chosen based on excellence in product innovation, design and engineering achievement, end-user benefit and cost-effectiveness in manufacturing and healthcare delivery. An impartial multidisciplinary panel of third-party jurors -- with expertise in biomedical engineering, human factors, industrial design, medicine and diagnostics -- conduct a comprehensive review of the entries. The awards were presented today during the Medical Design and Manufacturing East 2004 Conference and Exposition at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
