The patented Debiopass® innovative rubber-stopper is a simple and economic way to make use of a standard syringe for filling and safe storage of a liquid substance and its easy injection.

Easy to use

Easy and safe handling of the syringe in a fully conventional way. The bypass system in the rubber-stopper is automatically activated by the pressure created in the liquid when pressing on the plunger rod for the injection. Such a stopper also minimizes the syringe dead volume and related loss of active substance.

Simple to manufacture

Any standard syringe from 0.5 to 200ml equipped with Debiopass® can be filled with any conventional filling equipment and be compatible with final heat sterilization or be filled in an aseptic process. Switching from vial to a prefilled syringe with Debiopass® is an easy process as the only materials in contact with the drug are in both cases the same (glass and rubber).

Economic and safe

Debiopass® rubber-stopper can be added to any conventional syringe, replacing economically any complex existing system. Debiopass® also avoids rubber-particle release during activation and the contact between drug and needle during storage.

Time and cost saving

Drugs in prefilled syringes can save preparation time and manipulations, limit material waste and contamination risks during preparation, thus increasing the end-user convenience and safety.

The patented Debiopass® innovative rubber-stopper makes possible the use of a standard syringe for filling and safe storage of two or more different liquid substances in separated chambers and their sequential delivery in a single injection.

The bypass system in the rubber-stopper is automatically activated by the pressure created in the liquid when pressing on the plunger rod for the injection. The liquids in each chamber are expelled separately and consecutively with no mixing and total clearance, each liquid being washed out by the following one.

Economic and safe

One Debiopass® rubber-stopper is enough to create two separate chambers in any standard syringe, a second Debiopass® rubber-stopper can be used to isolate the first chamber from the needle when required for storage or final heat sterilization.

Intended use

The innovative double chamber syringe can be used for sequential injection of two different drugs prefilled in the same standard syringe ; or for flushing the drug prefilled in the first chamber with either saline solution or heparine lock contained in the second chamber ; or for the extemporaneously filling of drug from a vial into a syringe with already the second chamber prefilled (e.g. saline or heparine solution) and the sequential injection of such drug and solution with the same syringe.

Patented bypass stopper performs two critical functions: first, it effectively creates two separate chambers in a standard syringe; and second, it allows for complete expulsion of the first substance, without any rubber particles.

Prefilled "Saline Flush" compartment syringe

The closed system design permits withdrawal of an active drug from a vial into the syringe, into a first chamber, to permit injection of such drug followed by automatic wash out with saline flush contained in the prefilled second chamber.
