Poseidon™ and Nanopump™ presented at Pharmapack 2019 in Paris

Come and discover Poseidon™ and Nanopump™ , the two bolus injectors developed by Debiotech. They will be presented on February 6 and 7 at Pharmapack in Paris, at the Palais des Expositions, Porte de Versailles. Complementary in their specifications, they constitute a complete platform for the injection of viscous formulations.

The number of viscous injectable products available on the market is exploding. This phenomenon, linked, among other things, to the development of biopharmaceutical products, generates a growing demand for bolus injectors, capable of delivering volumes of more than a few milliliters in a few minutes. Depending on the application, the bolus injector may be limited to a very simple “slow syringe” action or may offer more advanced functionalities: control of the injection start time, variation of the controlled flow during injection, monitoring and reporting of the injection… For this reason Debiotech offers two distinct and complementary devices:

Poseidon™, a purely mechanical bolus injector, operates thanks to the vaporization of a liquefied gas. This compresses a membrane that pushes the drug into a flow restrictor and allows it to be injected. Such a device has the advantage of being particularly cheap.

Nanopump™ uses a MEMS pumping mechanism for drug delivery. Very precise and flexible, it offers great flexibility in triggering and controlling the flow rate during injection.

Both devices use the same type of reservoir: this container, developed by Debiotech for its insulin pump JewelPUMP™, is particularly compatible with many pharmaceutical formulations. They also use the same self-inserting cannula that guarantees a perfect injection. Easy to handle, they are both particularly small, offering patients greater comfort during injections.
